Derian House Childrens Hospice
A place for the whole family
At Derian House we can offer accommodation, not only for your child, but for you and other members of your family as well. We have four family flats, each with bedroom. bathroom, lounge and kitchen with full cooking facilities should you wish to use them. Alternatively you can join other families and staff for main meals in the dining room.
Hospice care is available for up to nine children. There are nine bright individual bedrooms situated at ground floor level, each with double doors opening out into the beautiful gardens surrounding the hospice. Each room has a range of facilities, not only to aid in the care of your child, but for their entertainment, including toys, light sensory and music systems.
There are additional excellent facilities including a fully equipped play room, games room, and a brilliant light sensory room, as well as a hydrotherapy pool and Jacuzzi. Aromatherapy, Reiki and Reflexology are also available.
The house is situated in a semi rural location close to an excellent road network which offers access to a host of places of local interest. The hospice mini bus offers a means of transport for outings and activities, although of course this is dependent on the weather and staff availability. The whole concept of Derian House is geared towards making your child’s stay, and yours, as relaxed as possible. There is no set routine at the hospice – you can do as much or as little as you wish.
