Philosophy of care
We acknowledge how difficult it is for families to accept that a children’s hospice may be the right place to complement the care and support a family need when a child or young person has a life limiting condition.
At Derian House we offer care and support to the whole family in the hospice, the lodge or in the family home through our ‘Derian at Home’ team. Our aim is to share the physical and emotional demands that we know comes from providing constant care to a seriously ill child.
We have self contained flats that enable parents, carers, and siblings to stay so you do not have to leave your child. We also welcome children and young people on their own to allow families to catch up on things back home.
Our care and support is flexible and we work with each family to find out what suits their needs.
