Music nights staged at Accrington’s popular Poplar Club have raised thousands of pounds to support our vital work over the years.
The latest Abba-themed night raised £1,027 to help fund end-of-life and respite care for children and young people with life-threatening illnesses and life-limiting conditions, as well as support for their families.
Organised by local man Steve Elliott, the nights are always sell-out successes bringing together the community for nights of great music from a host of tribute acts and local performers, and raising cash for Derian House.
Steve thanked Julie and David Talbot, of Precision Engineering, who sponsor most of the music nights; Valerie Martin, who lent her support to the Abba night as a sponsor, and the Poplar Club.
Now Steve is planning his next event at the busy club. A 1970s Glam and Glitter night, with tribute acts, will be staged on May 20th. Tickets are available from Steve on 07599085309.
