Trusts and Statutory Funding Manager

We are currently recruiting a Trusts and Statutory Funding Manager who is relevantly experienced to join the Fundraising Team within Corporate and Commercial Services at Derian House.

The successful applicant will demonstrate experience of working within a commissioning or fundraising role, evidence of high quality funding applications and a proven track record of meeting and/ or exceeding targets.

You will be expected to communicate the charity’s funding needs to potential trust funders through high quality written funding applications, face to face meetings, networking and other communication avenues. You will also be required to manage relationships with clinical commissioning groups providing data reports, skills in analysing high volumes of data are therefore essential.

Clinical Administration Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Administration Assistant to join our friendly Corporate and Commercial services team at Derian House.

This position is based at our fully equipped yet homely hospice providing respite, palliative and bereavement care for life-limited children or young people and their families on a one-to-one basis.

This role is primarily to provide administrative support to the clinical team and other general administrative duties within the Hospice such as providing Reception cover which includes meeting and greeting children, young people, families and other Hospice visitors. Strong interpersonal skills are needed with the ability to interact with people of all ages and backgrounds.

You will need knowledge of, or experience of working in a clinical environment, experience of working in a busy office environment and of general administrative duties and a can do approach.  You will have proven ability to balance multiple priorities along with excellent attention to detail, good IT skills including experience of working with or developing clinical systems.

Yoga, Pilates & Mindfulness Volunteer

Yoga, Pilates & Mindfulness Volunteer based at the hospice in Astley Village for one Saturday morning per month (can be flexible)

Our Wellbeing Team are looking for an experienced volunteer to deliver a  beginners level class in an adapted space for our young people & their families.

The successful volunteer must hold a qualification in either Pilates/Yoga or Mindfulness and must be able to evidence that they  have all the  relevant insurance to be able to deliver these sessions freelance.

Successful appointment will be subject to a relevant disclosure and barring check.

Volunteer Warehouse Driver/Assistant

Volunteer Warehouse Driver/Assistant based at our Warehouse in Adlington

Your role will be to support our Transport Team by assisting them with driving or accompanying them in our hospice vans between our shops, to companies, and customers/donors homes.

Volunteers must have a minimum of 2 years driving experience with a full clean driving licence to drive a 3.5 tonne box van

You will also need to be physically capable of lifting and moving heavy items of furniture.

Team work is essential so we are looking for someone friendly, reliable and hardworking, someone who is willing to learn and always portray a professional image of Derian House at all times.

We ask a minimum of 4 hours between 8.30 till 4.30pm (great if you are available for longer)

Volunteer Chorley Shop Assistant

Volunteer Shop Assistant based at our Chorley Town Centre shop

Flexible hours/days, opening days Monday—Saturday (Closed Bank Holidays)

The role will require an individual to;

  • Assist with accepting donations and preparing items for sale
  • Greeting customers to the shop
  • Processing cash and card payments
  • Receiving telephone enquires
  • Assisting with window displays
  • Ensuring the shop looks inviting and presentable at all times
