At Derian House we feel privileged to be counted as the friends of the many families we have cared for and supported since the hospice opened, as well as those to whom we continue to offer ongoing support. We know there will be countless others in the future who will need us to be there for them, to provide not only a high standard of specialist care for their child, but a reassuring framework of emotional support for them as a family.

Graphic Designer

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and highly creative Graphic Designer, who will create and produce original content that will support the team in the design and production of marketing materials, adverts, leaflets and other digital assets.

Working within the Communications and Marketing team, you will have a degree of conceptual freedom within the context of the branding guidelines of Derian House. You will be responsible for the design of publications, webpages and promotional material to be used throughout the organisation and in the wider community. This will enable you to see your designs realised, developed and put into production.

You will be given the opportunity to work on specific events and campaigns to create new associated collateral and promotional material, for both print and digital use.

The successful candidate will ideally have a strong level of ability in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, be pro-active and highly organised and have a passion for good design.

IT Technician

We are currently recruiting an IT Technician to support the organisation in the development and implementation of Information Technology for the Hospice, and to provide support for IT services across multiple sites.

The role involves providing technical support, advice and training for users to ensure competence with systems, alongside developing and implementing systems and dashboards to track and report on organisational performance and metrics. It will also involve working alongside a third party contractor who will provide all infrastructure support.

The successful applicant will have an IT degree or relevant experience; alongside experience of providing IT Support to a wide range of users and a wide range of devices preferably in a busy Service Desk environment using IT helpdesk systems. Excellent communication and inter-personal skills and sufficient personal qualities and emotional intelligence to work sensitively within a Hospice setting are also essential.

Clinical Educator

A unique opportunity has arisen to work with a team who are committed to delivering the highest possible standards of palliative and end of life care to children and young people.

Working closely with the Clinical Director and members of the senior clinical leadership team you will be joining us at an exciting time. With a brand new dedicated clinical skills facility we are looking for the right candidate who can develop and lead a strategic workforce development programme providing opportunities for our own team and others across the region.

You will be a Registered Nurse educated to at least degree level with experience of palliative and end of life care, delivery of training and education.

You will also be a dynamic, highly motivated individual who wants to make a difference to children, young people and their families who require palliative and end of life care.

Volunteer - eBay Administrator

Based at the Derian House Warehouse in Adlington

Our Retail team are looking for an energetic individual with a can do approach and attention to detail

The role will consist of:

  • Research items to obtain values
  • Write and photograph accurate descriptions of items for sale
  • List items on eBay
  • Deal with any email enquiries from perspective buyers
  • Ship sold items within agreed deadlines
  • Ensure internal paperwork is completed and current

Bank Chef

 Derian House Children’s Hospice provides high quality care to children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

 We are looking to recruit a relief chef/cook to cover holidays and time off in the running of our kitchens at Derian House.

You will need relevant experience within a catering environment, with the ability to multi-task and manage change.  You must be able to demonstrate enthusiasm, excellent communication and organisational skills and work effectively within a team. Ideally, you will have received training in food hygiene.
