 Derian House Children’s Hospice is proud to have been providing high quality care to children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions for the last 25 years. In addition to the clinical support we give the children and young people we care for; we also promote wellbeing, play and, education activities as part of a holistic approach to care. As we plan for the future developing and growing our services we are looking for an additional team member to join the wellbeing and play service.

This individual will work as part of the wellbeing and play team to assist with the smooth day to day running of the department. This will include facilitating play activities and setting up and running a range of peer support sessions for the children, young people and their family members. The role will also involve monitoring and documenting the provision of the wellbeing and play service, ensuring that the children, young people and families’ health, emotional and social care needs are considered at all times; either individually or in groups. There will also be the opportunity to support families both in the community and within the Hospice setting with respite care and pre and post bereavement support.

The successful candidate will have a degree or accredited professional qualification related to working with children, young people and families or equivalent, and a proven ability of working with children and young people with complex care needs. There may be a requirement to complete further training as part of this role, and Derian staff are actively encouraged to further develop their skills and knowledge in accordance with their career aspirations.  Derian House Children’s Hospice is proud to have been providing high quality care to children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions for the last 25 years. As we plan for the future developing and growing our services; we are looking for an experienced physiotherapist who is passionate about delivering outstanding care to children and young people with highly complex needs. This role will involve developing and managing a small physiotherapy team, and will involve further developing the current service both in-house and within a community setting.

The successful candidate will have a physiotherapy degree and have a hydrotherapy qualification or be willing to obtain one. Training in respiratory management including invasive, non-invasive ventilation and cough assist is essential. Evidence of a proven ability with service development and implementation, working within a multi-disciplinary team, and understanding the specific needs of children/young people with life limiting & life threatening conditions is also essential.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Shop Manager for our new store on King William Street in Blackburn Town Centre.

The role involves managing and co-ordinating the daily retail activities for the shop, managing all aspects of the operation, including the management of staff, volunteers and vulnerable people, whilst also developing and delivering a high standard of customer service maximising sales and profitability.

The successful candidate will have proven ability to lead & supervise, with the ability to motivate others, proven ability of operating within a managerial role, and well-developed team building skills.

This role would require working some weekends and evenings as required.

The proposed opening date for the store is late June so we are looking for candidates with availability for an immediate start.

 An exciting opportunity has arisen for an eCommerce Manager to join our growing retail network.

The Derian House retail network currently consists of 4 locations in Chorley, Preston, Leyland and Horwich; with a new store due to open in Blackburn in June. During the past 12 months we have grown our e-sales business and we are now looking to recruit an individual to manage this new and exciting area of the business.

The role involves managing and co-ordinating the daily retail activities for the eShop(s), managing all aspects of the operation, including the management of staff, volunteers and vulnerable people, whilst also developing and delivering a high standard of customer service to maximise sales and profitability.

The successful candidate will have proven ability to lead & supervise, with the ability to motivate others and well-developed team building skills. A working knowledge of eBay, Facebook Marketplace and other e-sales platforms is essential, as is a proven ability of setting up and maintaining retail processes and procedures.
