– £32,469 – £35,907.18 per annum (full time) dependant on experience.

Derian House Children’s Hospice is proud to have been providing high quality care to children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions for the last 26 years.

The Derian care team provides symptom management, palliative and end-of-life care, as well as short break respite care to children, young people and their families across Lancashire, South Cumbria and Greater Manchester. Supported by our dedicated community team, family support team, neonatal services and young people’s services we are able to provide a wide range of support and care in a variety of settings.

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our Derian at Home Community team. You will have the highly rewarding opportunity to provide respite, palliative and bereavement care for life-limited children and their families in the comfort of their own home. Having the chance to build relationships with children and their families helps make this a particularly fulfilling role. Previous community experience is desirable.

As we plan for the future developing and growing our services we are looking a Hospice Manager to lead our in-house care team and work with other senior staff to promote an integrated and cohesive team across all our Hospice Services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing development of Hospice based services and will work closely with other members of the organisation and external agencies to provide a high level of clinical practice and specialist palliative care.  They will contribute to the wider strategic development of the hospice incorporating local and national strategy, and will deputise for the Director of Clinical Services where required.

We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated compassionate leader educated to at least degree level (or with significant relevant clinical experience) who wants to make a difference to the children, young people and their families needing palliative and end of life care and support.

We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Administration Assistant to join our friendly team at Derian House.

This position is based at our fully equipped yet homely hospice which provides respite, palliative and bereavement care for life-limited children or young people and their families on a one-to-one basis.

This role is primarily to provide administrative support to the clinical team and other general administrative duties within the Hospice such as providing Reception cover which includes meeting and greeting children, young people, families and other Hospice visitors. As we transition to a new digital platform within our care team, experience of implementing and operating a patient record system would be beneficial, particularly EMIS. Strong interpersonal skills are needed with the ability to interact with people of all ages and backgrounds.

You will need knowledge of, or experience of working in a clinical environment, experience of working in a busy office environment and of general administrative duties.  The successful candidate will have a can do approach, and a proven ability to balance multiple priorities along with excellent attention to detail, good IT skills.

Are you a talented writer and storyteller? Can you remain empathetic, sensitive and diplomatic whilst telling the authentic story of Derian House Children’s Hospice?

Derian House is looking to appoint a dynamic PR & Communications Officer, who will help promote the charity’s work through the creation and use of written material across different platforms.

This new role within the team reflects the charity’s desire to engage with a wider audience to raise awareness of our work through all media channels, and to improve our communication with our families.

Working within the Communications and Marketing team, you will use your expertise to support communication between the charity and its users through the creation of compelling case studies, press releases, leaflets and copy for our website.

You will also work closely with the fundraising team to support campaigns and events with compelling family stories, You will manage day-to-day press releases, organise interviews with the media, and arrange and brief spokespeople.

The successful candidate will ideally have a relevant journalism or communications qualification and a minimum of one year’s experience in a journalism or communications role or similar.  A flair for promoting and telling good stories whilst remaining empathetic, sensitive and diplomatic is essential.
