Registered Nurse – (Children’s, Adult & Learning Disability)

– £26,275-£31,413 per annum (full time) dependant on experience.

– 37.5 hours per week, worked on rotating shifts including nights, weekends and bank holidays. 

– Part time hours will also be considered.

– Free Parking

– Shift enhancements for weekend / night / bank holiday shifts

– Continuation of NHS Pension scheme or option to join Derian pension scheme

The Derian care team provides symptom management, palliative and end-of-life care, as well as short break respite care to children, young people and their families across Lancashire, South Cumbria and Greater Manchester. Supported by our dedicated community team, family support team, perinatal services and young people’s services we are able to provide a wide range of support and care in a variety of settings.  Derian staff are actively encouraged to further develop their skills and knowledge in accordance with their career aspirations. Derian House Children’s Hospice is proud to have been providing high quality care to children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions for more than 25 years.  As we plan for the future, developing and growing our services, we are looking for a full time Family Counsellor who is both passionate about delivering outstanding care, and who has previous experiences of working with children & young people and their families with life limiting conditions; both pre and post bereavement.

This Family Counsellor will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering care to children, young people and their families within the hospice environment, whilst also respecting the skills, expertise and contributions of others in the provision of holistic care and support to children and young people and their families using Derian House services.

This vacancy provides an exciting opportunity to work alongside the existing Family Counsellor and Family Support Team Leader, engaging with families at the earliest opportunity to provide support after devastating news. It is a professionally rewarding role, providing emotional and practical support alongside palliative and bereavement care, for children and young people given a life-limited expectancy, either at home or within the hospice environment.
