What a great day we had at Wags & Wellies 2017 in Cuerden Valley Park.
Many thanks to the 92 dogs and their two-legged companions who took part in the two-mile sponsored dog walk yesterday.
Community fund-raiser Judy Miller said: “What a fabulous start to Derian House’s year of fund-raising events! We’re looking forward to lots of great opportunities to celebrate the very best of Derian in 2017, raising money to support our vital work with children and young people with life-limiting conditions and life-threatening illnesses.
“It was lovely to see so many smiling faces – and wagging tails – in the beautiful setting of Cuerden Valley Park for Wags and Wellies 2017. It might have turned out to be a little wet and muddy but that certainly didn’t dampen our spirits.
“Many thanks to our supporters – both two-legged and four-legged – who braved the showers to create such a great atmosphere and to the stall holders and volunteers who made the day one to remember.”
A huge Derian thank you goes to all who made the event possible including Cuerden Valley Park Trust, all the volunteers from Derian House who helped with promotion, delivering leaflets, making bow-ties and Chorley’s Angels for their attendance for first aid.
The winner of a chocolate hamper (and a basket of dog treats) for signing up early was Yvonne Oldfield.
