Yoga, Pilates & Mindfulness Volunteer

Yoga, Pilates & Mindfulness Volunteer based at the hospice in Astley Village for one Saturday morning per month (can be flexible)

Our Wellbeing Team are looking for an experienced volunteer to deliver a  beginners level class in an adapted space for our young people & their families.

The successful volunteer must hold a qualification in either Pilates/Yoga or Mindfulness and must be able to evidence that they  have all the  relevant insurance to be able to deliver these sessions freelance.

Successful appointment will be subject to a relevant disclosure and barring check.

Volunteer Warehouse Driver/Assistant

Volunteer Warehouse Driver/Assistant based at our Warehouse in Adlington

Your role will be to support our Transport Team by assisting them with driving or accompanying them in our hospice vans between our shops, to companies, and customers/donors homes.

Volunteers must have a minimum of 2 years driving experience with a full clean driving licence to drive a 3.5 tonne box van

You will also need to be physically capable of lifting and moving heavy items of furniture.

Team work is essential so we are looking for someone friendly, reliable and hardworking, someone who is willing to learn and always portray a professional image of Derian House at all times.

We ask a minimum of 4 hours between 8.30 till 4.30pm (great if you are available for longer)

Volunteer Chorley Shop Assistant

Volunteer Shop Assistant based at our Chorley Town Centre shop

Flexible hours/days, opening days Monday—Saturday (Closed Bank Holidays)

The role will require an individual to;

  • Assist with accepting donations and preparing items for sale
  • Greeting customers to the shop
  • Processing cash and card payments
  • Receiving telephone enquires
  • Assisting with window displays
  • Ensuring the shop looks inviting and presentable at all times

Volunteer - Play Department

Play Department Volunteer

Based at the Hospice in Astley Village.

A minimum of 4 hours per week required.

Our busy Play Specialists are looking for a volunteer to help them with the cleaning of all toys, play equipment and toy cupboards.

The successful volunteer needs to be able to work alongside the Play Team with a very pro active approach and attention to detail.

Full training will be provided on induction.

Successful appointment will be subject to a relevant disclosure and barring check.

Volunteer - Housekeeping Support

Based at the hospice in Astley Village

Monday to Sunday shifts available, flexible hours. Also to assist with bank cover for holidays or sickness.

  • To assist with keeping the communal areas of the hospice clean and tidy.
  • To carry out specific duties, such as cleaning corridors, bathrooms, offices and dining room as directed.
  • To work closely with the care team in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.

We are looking for people with an energetic, can do approach, attention to    detail and the ability to work as part of a team.

Successful appointment will be subject to a relevant disclosure and barring check.

Volunteer Leyland Shop Assistant

Based at our Leyland Town Centre shop

Flexible hours/days, opening days Monday—Saturday

  • Assist with accepting donations and preparing items for sale

  • Assisting with window displays

Volunteer Warehouse Assistant

Based at our Warehouse in Adlington, White Bear Marina

Flexible hours/days available, Monday to Friday

  • Greeting customers to the Warehouse
  • Assist with accepting donations and preparing items for sale
  • Processing cash and card payments
  • Receiving telephone enquires about collection of goods
  • Arranging delivery of goods to customers
  • Ensuring the Warehouse looks presentable at all times
  • Support with administration duties i.e. filling
