Welcome to Derian House

We care for more than 400 seriously ill babies, children and young people across the North West helping them make the most of every moment.

Support us

Care is free for families, but it will cost £6 million to run services at Derian House this year, and we rely on the generosity of our kind supporters to keep doing what we do.

Are you a Derian family?

Family Stories

Kacey's story

Our son Kacey is pure joy – always smiling and dancing, with a cheeky charm that melts hearts.
But Kacey has been very poorly throughout his short life, and we have been told to say goodbye to him a heart-breaking nine times.
Kacey is now five, and thanks to a rare multi-organ transplant we never thought possible, we’ve been given the most precious Christmas gift: the freedom of time with our little boy.

“I’m so grateful for what Derian House has done for my family, like breaks away, playing in the playground, spending time in their cinema, and much more!" ✨Determined 12-year-old Jayda - who has dyslexia and ADHD - spent an entire day reading to raise money for the children’s hospice that cares for her little sister, Kaia 😍Jayda, who also struggles with visual stress which can cause words to move around on the page, began her challenge with the Percy Jackson series, and read from 9am until 9pm on Saturday 14th February – just two days after her 12th birthday 📚The super-reader powered through 12 hours, and several birthday brownies provided by mum, Cath, to raise £567 - more than five times her goal - for families just like hers 💫Both Jayda and her little sister Kaia share the same unnamed genetic craniofacial syndrome, and have both been through their own struggles throughout their lives. Derian House has been supporting the family for eight years – since Kaia was a baby 🫶Thank you so much Jayda for your incredible efforts - you're an absolute superstar! #ThankYouThursday 💚 ...
