Kacey's story
Our son Kacey is pure joy – always smiling and dancing, with a cheeky charm that melts hearts.
But Kacey has been very poorly throughout his short life, and we have been told to say goodbye to him a heart-breaking nine times.
Kacey is now five, and thanks to a rare multi-organ transplant we never thought possible, we’ve been given the most precious Christmas gift: the freedom of time with our little boy.

💚 The team at Kelmore completed the Chorley 10k and raised an incredible £1,71Wigan Warriorsundreds of Wigan WarrioBetfred Challenge Cupthe BetfreWembley Stadium connected by EE final at Wembley Stadium wearing their Holly's Kit, including Holly's parents Mark and Jenny, and siblings Evie and Jack. Almost 1,000,000 people tuned in to watch the game on BBC One, which means they'll have seen our charity shirt in all of its glory!![]()
RHF Turf Growerstop soil was donated by RHF Turf Growers for our brand new wild flower area at the front of the hospice. They also did the original landscaping for when Derian House was first built in 1993!![]()

Teenager Annie Pickup was offered the chance to make her wish of becoming an ice cream lady come true, but was left disappointed and heartbroken when the experience was cancelled at the last minute 🍦![]()

Annie’s story went viral - shared 4,700 times on Facebook – and the teen received hundreds of offers of support from ice cream sellers across the country. Now, not only is her dream becoming a reality, she’s using it to raise funds for Derian House, which cares for her family 😍![]()

Last week, Annie got her first taste of the experience as she scooped up smiles in Penwortham, thanks to Raheim of NorthWest Whippy and his ice cream van - raising £923 for Derian House 🙌![]()

And for those who missed out, Annie will be back out on Saturday 27th June, serving ice cream at Preston’s Flag Market and raising vital funds for children and families supported by the hospice 🥰![]()

Annie was born with Kabuki syndrome and has undergone multiple surgeries. More recently, she developed Evans syndrome, meaning frequent hospital visits. But despite everything, Annie is always smiling and hopes to make others smile too - her dream is to own a pink, leopard-print ice cream van and travel the country serving up joy to everyone she meets 🐆![]()
