James Cole

Trustee since September 2018

From the age of 11 James lived in the same village as Derian House and remembers the hospice opening, along with being involved in various fundraising activities over the years (the most memorable being a 260-mile bike ride from Manchester to Southampton, not to mention the numerous marathons he has done for charity).

Being very much a local lad, graduating with an MBA and more recently becoming an honorary fellow of UCLan for achievements in business, James is keen to give back to the local area in which he grew up.

In 2018 James sold his shares in Chorley-based WTH UK, one of the UK’s largest cruise retail businesses, which he founded in 2008 and employed 185 people.

Out of work he is a keen golfer, enjoys cooking, socialising with friends and most of all enjoying time with his family including his children, Olivia and Charlie.
