Steve Game

I began nurse training at 19-years-old and have worked as a health and social care professional for more than 35 years. My professional background and training are that of a mental health nurse, person centred therapist and supervisor to master’s degree level.

Having gained professional qualifications, I have had the privilege of working in a wide spectrum of professional and managerial positions within NHS, local authority and non-statutory organisations. I have acted at Director/Corporate Level (within operations and governance) for large and multi-site organisations for the past 20 years. Over the past few years I have jointly owned five independent, multi-disciplinary specialised services across Merseyside and Cumbria for individuals and young adults with a wide range of conditions including learning difficulties and disabilities; autistic spectrum conditions; mental health and acquired brain injuries

I have acted for many years as Nominated Individual to the Care Quality Commission and have for some time acted as a Specialist Advisor (CQC).

I am passionate about people and committed to equality at all levels. I have been in the very fortunate position of retiring from full time work early and have, since 2016, worked as a volunteer at Derian House which has resulted in my new position as Trustee. I am absolutely delighted and honoured to act as such and believe I bring to the table many years of professional, governance, managerial and clinical skills which I will utilise to support the fantastic team, children, young people and families at Derian House.
